How to Add Music on the Kindle 2
Amazon's Kindle 2 is a personal e-reader device capable of storing numerous books and magazines at one time. The ability to put all of your reading material on one device eliminates the bulk typically associated with carrying multiple books. The Kindle 2 also includes several other convenient features, including Internet access (either Wi-Fi or 3G, depending on your model) and integrated speakers. These speakers can be utilized to play audio books or you can transfer music files to the Kindle 2 from your PC and listen to songs on the device.

Connect the small end of your Kindle USB cable to the port on the bottom of your Kindle 2.

Connect the large end of the USB cable to a USB port on your computer.

Browse to the folder on your computer containing the music files you wish to copy to your Kindle 2.

Right-click on a music file that you wish to add to the Kindle 2 and then click "Copy." To select multiple files at once, hold down "Ctrl" as you select each file.

Click "Start" at the lower left corner of the screen and then click "Computer."

Double-click the "Kindle" icon.

Double-click the "Music" folder.

Right-click inside the folder and then click "Paste." Wait for the files to transfer.

Double-click the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon at the bottom right corner of the screen and then click the "Kindle" option to eject the Kindle 2 from your computer.

Tips & Warnings
Music files must be in the MP3 format to be played on the Kindle 2.
To play your music files, press "Home," then press "Menu," and then press "Experimental." Select "Play MP3" to begin playing your music files.
You can advance through your songs by pressing "Alt" and "F" on your Kindle 2.
The Kindle 2 has 2 GB of internal memory, so the hard drive can fill up quickly as you add music files.
Playing music on your Kindle utilizes significantly more of the battery than does reading. Continued use of the Kindle 2 as a music player will result in a much shorter time between charges.
