Instructions

    • 1

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 2

Combine the ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup white sugar in a small bowl. Stir with your fingers to blend and sprinkle 1 tbsp. of the mixture over the chopped apples. Set the apples aside.

    • 3

Combine the remaining white sugar and the cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Stir with a wooden spoon until smooth. Add the large egg and beat with an electric mixer until fluffy. Stir the vanilla into the cream cheese mixture with the spoon.

    • 4

Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and lay the pieces side-by-side on the cookie sheet. Pinch the edges of the crescents together with your fingers, forming one large sheet of dough.

    • 5

Place the apple pieces onto the dough sheet, lengthwise, leaving 4 inches of dough to either side.

    • 6

Pour the cream cheese mixture over the apples. Fold the exposed sides of the dough over the apple and cream cheese filling. Pinch the ends closed to encase the filling in dough from either side. If the dough overlaps, pinching the ends together is unnecessary.

    • 7

Bake for 35 minutes or until the exterior of the pastry puff is a golden brown. Remove from the oven and spread the melted butter over the top with a pastry brush. Sprinkle the reserved cinnamon and sugar mixture over the top. Serve while hot.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use your favorite type of berry jam or chopped fruit in lieu of the apple filling.
