Instructions

1
Grow the yellow bell shrub in full sun to ensure adequate flowering.
-
2
Water the yellow bell shrub only during periods of drought. Water until the soil is saturated; don't water again until the soil is completely dry and you don't expect rain.
-
-
3
Fertilize the yellow bell shrub once a month from spring until August. Use a 20-20-20 liquid fertilizer at the rate suggested on the package.
-
4
Prune the shrub in spring by cutting off dead branches to the main stem. Cut off any branches, to a main stem, that are sticking out beyond the desired shape of the plant. To rejuvenate an overgrown shrub, cut it to the ground. This does not destroy the plant.
-
5
Remove the 4- to 8-inch long bean-like seed pods as they appear when a flower dies. Use either pruning shears or your fingers to snap them from the shrub. This encourages the yellow bell shrub to continue blooming.
