1
Combine 3 to 4 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce with an equal amount of soy sauce in a medium-sized bowl. Add 2 or 3 tbsp. honey, a tablespoon mustard, and a shot of either lemon juice or vinegar. Stir in 1/4 cup cola or root beer, if desired. Sprinkle pepper, garlic and your choice of seasonings such as Jamaican jerk seasoning, onion powder, salt or celery seasoning into the liquid. Include 1/4 to 1/2 cup barbecue sauce or store-bought marinade if chosen.

2
Place your pork roast in a large, resealable plastic bag or in a bowl with a lid large enough to hold the roast. Pour marinade mixture over the roast and seal the container. Set the roast in your fridge and marinate at least 3 hours to allow the liquid to soak in. Stir or toss occasionally to distribute liquid.

Cut roast, if needed, to fit into your crock pot. Pour enough water over the roast to cover almost half the meat. Pour in about half a can of your desired soda. Sprinkle the exposed surface of the roast with pepper, a dash of garlic powder, and any other preferred seasonings. Cover crock pot and cook on low for 8 to 12 hours.
-
4
Turn the crock pot off and drain the liquid from it. Leave the roast to sit around an hour to cool it off.
-
5
Shred the cooked pork, using forks or even your fingers. Remove excess fat as you work. Place the meat back into the crock pot.
-
6
Peel and cut an onion, combining it with the meat. Add previous spices as desired. Pour in enough of your favorite barbecue sauce to moisten the meat. Include enough of the cola to make the mixture slightly wet, with a small amount of standing liquid ---- perhaps the other half can of soda.
-
7
Turn crock pot on high, bringing mixture to a simmer for an hour or two. Reduce heat and continue cooking for an hour or two more for a total cook time of 3 to 4 hours. Let your pulled pork cook slightly before serving.
