How to Do a One-Handed Catch on "Madden 10"

One-handed catches are very exciting!

"Madden NFL 10" continues to realistically simulate football action, allowing users to complete the plays they see on Sunday. One feature of "Madden NFL 10" is the ability to catch passes with one hand. Users cannot routinely do this, but they can take several steps to greatly increase the likelihood of making a one-handed catch. Versions of the game are available for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.

Instructions

1. Field a team that has a quarterback with high accuracy and a wide receiver with a high, spectacular catch. Accurate quarterbacks can place footballs in places where a receiver can catch them, and wide receivers with a high spectacular-catch rating will frequently attempt a one-handed catch. Teams such as the Patriots or Colts often make a good combination for one-handed catches.

2. Throw a directed lob pass to the receiver. Tap the receiver's button to throw a lob pass. To direct the pass, press the analog stick or directional pad in any direction when the quarterback is throwing the pass. Typically, one-handed catches occur when the pass is directed in front of the receiver by pressing up on the analog stick as it is delivered.

3. Change to the receiver while the ball is still in the air. To change to the receiver on Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii, press "B." To change to the receiver on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 2, press "O."

4. Attempt a spectacular catch with the receiver. If the pass is catchable, the receiver has a very good chance of completing the one-handed catch. To attempt a spectacular catch on Xbox 360, tap "Y." To attempt the catch on Nintendo Wii, raise the Nunchuk and Wii Remote in the air. To attempt the catch on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2, press "Triangle."
