How to Add a .Jad to a Bold 9700
BlackBerry devices have a large third-party application library, which uses the Java Application Descriptor (JAD) file format to install these programs. JAD files can include not just games, but also everyday applications; using a theme-based JAD file, for instance, allows you to switch the layout of your BlackBerry Bold's operating system.

1
Plug the larger prong of your BlackBerry USB cable into an available USB port on your computer (usually located at the back of the computer or inside the front panel). Then plug the smaller prong into your BlackBerry's Micro-USB port (this is located on the left side of your Bold). When prompted to enter Mass Media Storage, press the on-screen "Yes" button using the Bold's "Enter" key (this key is located to the right of the trackball).

2
Click the "Yes" button when your computer auto-launches a dialog box asking if you want to connect to your BlackBerry. Double-click the drive of your BlackBerry Bold (usually labeled E:, G: or, sometimes, the name of the BlackBerry itself). Drag and drop the JAD files you wish to transfer to this drive.

5
Scroll down to the "Explore" menu using the Bold's trackball, then press the "Enter" key. Enter ".JAD" into the search box using the Bold's keypad, and then press the "Enter" key. This searches your device's media card for JAD files.

Highlight a "JAD" file using the trackball, then press the "Enter" key. Press the on-screen "Install" button using the "Enter" key when you receive the "Are you sure you want to install?" prompt. The JAD file automatically begins the installation directly to your BlackBerry Bold.
