How to Install the Dell Printer 3115CN Driver

To ensure that your Dell 3115cn printer runs correctly, its applicable driver must be properly installed and configured. The driver is software that is necessary for the printer to communicate with the computer. Once the driver is installed, you can take advantage of the printer's features such as full color scanning, printing and copying, and the Dell ColorTrack color tool. To install the driver, you need the printer's Drivers and Utilities CD.

Instructions

1. Connect the printer to the computer using its USB cable.

2. Insert the "Dell Laser Printer Drivers & Utilities" CD into the disk drive of your computer. The Dell Printer Installation Setup window opens.

3. Click the "Personal Installation" check box and then click "Next."

4. Click the "Configure New Wired Printer, or Install Driver and Software for Existing Printer" check box and then click "Next."

5. Click the check box next to your 3115cn printer from the list of printers on the Select Printer page. Click "Next." The Enter Printer Settings page opens.

6. Select the check box next to any additional option you want the printer to have. For example, click the "Set This Printer as Default" check box to make the 3115cn the default printer.

7. Click "Next" after choosing the options and the Setup Status window opens. The printer driver is installed and configured when the "Congratulations" screen appears.

8. Click "Print a Test Page" to confirm the printer is operating properly.
