How to Address a BBB Complaint
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) accepts complaints concerning transactions with any U.S. or Canadian company. Even if the company is not BBB-accredited, dissatisfied consumers can address any issue, excluding cases of illegal employment practices, discrimination, or matters in litigation. The procedure of filing a complaint is straightforward, but bear in mind that you must disclose your personal details as the BBB does not process anonymous complaints.

Visit the Better Business Bureau's website (www.bbb.org) and click on the link "File a complaint" on the main page. The link is located on the "BBB For Consumers" group of options on the left side of the U.S., Canadian and regional sites.

Read the guidelines carefully before you file a complaint. The BBB is not responsible for complaints concerning a company's function or matters of litigation. Click on the link at the center of the text for additional BBB complaint acceptance guidelines.

Click on the "Next" button to move to the complaint form. Answer the questions regarding the company's location, the type of transaction and disclose your residence before moving to the BBB company database. Narrow your search by mentioning the company's phone number, name or website URL.

Enter your personal details and transaction details at the top of the page. Continue with a summary of your complaint, the resolution sought (if you want a refund or a replacement for example), a detailed account of your complaint, as well as information regarding the product or service in question. Each box limits the amount of characters you can enter.

Click on the submit button to finish the procedure. Check your spelling before sending the form by clicking on the "Check Spelling" button. If you want to file a complaint by mail or fax, a printable form is available for download at the bottom of the page.
