Use a kitchen knife to carefully hollow out your cone-shaped styrofoam piece. This will allow the angel to sit atop a center branch on your tree.

Take out two pipe cleaners, and shape them into a pair of angel wings. Wrap each wing carefully in gold foil, crimping the edges so that it is secure.

    • 3

Place a few drops of glue in different areas on the styrofoam cone, and wrap the cone in gold foil. Place two small lines of glue in the center of the cone, and glue the wings--side-by-side--to the cone.

Stick a toothpick into the top of the cone, leave about 1 inch extending out. Place a few drops of glue around the base of the toothpick. Press your styrofoam ball down onto the toothpick until it is touching the cone. This is the angel's head.

    • 5

Use your markers to draw two eyes, a nose and a mouth onto the ball for your angel's face. You can also use beads or sequins, glued onto the ball, to create the facial features. Put a few rows of glue onto the top and back of the ball, and add the golden hair. The glue will help the hair adhere to the styrofoam.

    • 6

Twist a piece of your wire into a round halo. (The diameter should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the angel's head.) Keep a straight piece of wire about 2 inches long extending down from the halo. Cut the wire. Gently push the extension on your wire halo down into the cone between the angel's wings in the back. You can place some glue on the end of the wire before you push it in to secure it in place.

Use your spray glitter glue to add sheen by spraying it lightly all over the angel. Let dry for 20 minutes. You can also add sequins, feather trim, beads or other elements to personalize your angel.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try not to make your angel too heavy as it could tip forward on the tree branch.
