How to Make Your Very Own Handmade Wedding Stationery
Making your own wedding stationery can be cost effective and fun to create. Wedding stationery can apply to invitations or simple thank you notes. Hand made stationery can also be used for save the date announcements, or reception invitations. If you haven't made your own stationery in the past, you may want to save your handmade stationary for thank you notes or save the date cards, as these are less formal aspects of the wedding announcement.

Take your wedding theme into account. Your stationery style should coincide with your overall theme. Try to incorporate your wedding colors into your stationery. If you are having a theme wedding, try to buy stationery that can be molded into the theme. For example, if you are having a beach wedding, buy paper with seashells on it, and personalize it to your liking with a variety of embellishments.

Buy blank cards or paper as the stationery. Blank cards or paper ensures you have a clean canvas to work with. Take the size of the cards or paper into account. For save the date announcements, you may want to use single sheets of paper. Buy a product that is durable and thicker than average notebook paper.

Purchase a personalized stamp. You can usually buy personalized stamps online or from specialty print shops. Have a stamp made which names the bride and groom as a married couple using both first and last names. Or you can purchase a stamp that uses only first names, so that you can use it for announcements both before and after the wedding.

Purchase additional craft materials. Use pens or paint and create a border by hand. Apply the personalized stamp at the top of the page. If you don't have time to draw a border by hand, create one through a computer program. Many computers come with a stationary program that will help you print and create these types of projects. You can also design your stationery online and then have it printed from a variety of companies. Once it arrives, apply ribbon and glitter for an elegant but simple touch.
