Instructions

    • 1

Edit and crop all photos you want to use in your new Photo Story project and resize them with matching width and height. Save the entire batch in a designated folder on your computer.

    • 2

Start a new story in the Microsoft Photo Story wizard and import your edited photo files into the program by selecting the appropriate folder on your computer. Change the order of the images by dragging and dropping individual files in the filmstrip on the bottom of the window. If necessary, edit or crop any of the pictures further by clicking on them. Click the "Next" button in the bottom right-hand corner when you are satisfied with the order and look of all images in the filmstrip.

    • 3

Add captions with a brief description in the text window on the right of the picture and any desired special effects from the drop-down menu underneath each photo after clicking on it in the filmstrip. Finish this step by clicking the "Next" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen when you are done with the last picture in the filmstrip.

    • 4

Speak into the microphone to record a brief soundbite for each picture after clicking on the red "record" button on the right side of the selected photo. Click the "stop" button when you are done.

    • 5

Preview the available motion and transition effects between images in your Photo Story project after clicking on "Customize Motion" and save the effects you want to use. Click the "Next" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

    • 6

Add a soundtrack of your choice by selecting the appropriate music file on your computer and click "Next." The music might make it difficult to understand your previously recorded soundbites for each pic.

    • 7

Save your Photo Story project by clicking "Next" one last time after specifying the file name and location for storage on your computer, as well as selecting the desired settings such as resolution and video quality.
