How to Knockout With One Punch in "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves"
To knockout an enemy with a single punch in the video game "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" on the PlayStation 3, you must first soften the target with gunfire. It is best to attempt this on earlier levels in the game, or on a lower difficulty setting because there will be fewer armored guards that may require more than one shot before they can be knocked out with a single punch. You need to get very close to the target enemy, which is dangerous, but doing this successfully multiple times will unlock trophies.

Load a game and approach a normal enemy guard, found in most areas. Do not attempt this on a significant enemy such as a large, armored guard with a minigun.

Press the "Left" button on the D-pad to equip a regular pistol, such as the 92FS (not a high-powered one, like the Desert-5).

Run toward the guard and hold the "L1" button down to aim. Point at his torso and then press the "R1" button to shoot him once. Release the "L1" button.

Tips & Warnings
Chapter 13 (Locomotion) is a good place to do this because it is harder for enemies to get behind you.
Defeat 20 enemies like this to get the Steel Fist Master trophy. Do it ten times in a row to get the Steel Fist Expert trophy.
Do not shoot enemies in the head if you intend to punch them afterwards as it will kill them instantly and deny you the knockout blow.
