How to Design a Church Birthday Card
If you have a large number of elderly congregants in your church, then you might want to get your youth group members together to make birthday cards. A handmade birthday card not only makes an elderly congregant feel special, but also it might be one of the few birthday messages he or she receives. Use scraps from your craft stash to make unique cards and fill them with personal messages.
Things You'll Need

1
Lay on your work space a piece of card stock in a color of your choice. You should make sure the paper is lying horizontally. Fold it in half. This forms your card base.
-
2
Write a personal message on the inside of the card using a paint pen. This allows you to be the most efficient in designing your card in the time you have available. You will leave items that need to be glued to the front of the card to the last steps so that you do not have to wait for the card to dry or set before writing the message.

3
Close the card and smooth it out. Now it is time to begin designing the front of the card.

4
Cut out a cross from scraps of paper. This can be a free-form cross to add a little artistry to the design. Glue it on the front of the card.
-
5
Draw and cut out a bird -- such as a dove -- or a house. You can glue these on the front of the card as well. Group your cutouts or spread them out. The design is up to you.
-
6
Outline your cutouts with glitter glue pens. Add a steeple to your house to form a church. Use glitter glue to write, "Happy Birthday from Your Church Family!" Allow your card to dry completely before putting it in an envelope or delivering it in person.
