Open your web browser and visit Craigslist (craigslist.org.) This long-standing advertising website started in the late 1990s and is popular among Web users throughout the world.

Although signing up is not required to create a classified ad, it is suggested, since members get better post locations. Click on "Post to Classifieds." Fill in the required information including your name, address and phone number. Supply a valid phone number, as Craigslist will sometimes need to verify it.

Click once again "Post to Classifieds." Choose the category for your posting, whether you are selling services or products. Pick the category that best suits your advertisement, such as Real Estate, Jobs, Socials or any other on the drop-down menu. Select a sub-category in the same way.

Enter the posting title, price and location. Add the details you want in your posting description, writing a clear and compelling advertisement telling what your company does. Enter your email address where it says "Reply To" and hit "Continue." Enter the verification word that appears, as this informs Craigslist that you are a human being and not a program robot.

Click on "Accept the terms of use" button. A link will be sent to your email. Access your email and open the message from Craigslist to click on the link. Review your ad and click "Publish."

Click on "Change City" in the top toolbar on the left hand side. Type your state location into the box and select a city from the drop down box. Click "Place a Free Ad" from the upper right hand side of the top toolbar.

Choose a category and type in the details such as title, description, price, city and email. Click on "Place my Free Ad Now."

Add your advertisement information and click "Post." Wait for the verification of your ad posting and check the advertisement.
