How to Wrap a Burrito From Top to Bottom
Burritos have been around for centuries, beginning with the Aztecs wrapping their food in tortillas. The burrito has evolved since then, from breakfast burritos to frozen burrito options. Making them at home can be a healthier way to make burritos, as you can choose your own ingredients. - Homemade burrito filling
- 8 10-inch flour tortillas
- Aluminum foil
- Diced tomato (optional)
- Shredded cheese (optional)
- Oven mitt

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, then pull off a long sheet of aluminum foil. Place the tortillas in the center, and wrap the edges tightly, ensuring they are sealed.

Place in the center of the oven for 10 minutes.

Remove a tortilla and place on the counter. Scoop 1/2 cup of filling into the center of the tortilla, then sprinkle a bit of tomato and cheese on top (if preferred).

Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla up, so that it just reaches the edge of the filling.

Fold the right and left side in until they meet in the center, then roll up from the bottom to the top.

Tips & Warnings
Keep the tortillas warm by leaving them wrapped while you are folding the burritos. Secure with toothpicks if you intend to bake them, to ensure they stay closed.
Aluminum and tortillas will be very hot when leaving the oven, handle them with an oven mitt.
