Founded in 1936, American Airlines Credit Union is an independent financial body that offers financial services to people employed in the aviation industry and their families. The organization offers members three types of credit cards, with the Visa Platinum Rewards Credit Card allowing holders to accumulate Connection Points that they can exchange for travel-related goods and services, gift cards and merchandise. Users earn one Connection Point for every dollar spent on signature-based items, with the points redeemable online or via phone. The Connection Point program is run in conjunction with CU Rewards.

Instructions

1. Check your Connection Points account balance online by logging in via the CUAcce$$ button in the left-hand navigation bar of the American Airlines Credit Union website.

2. Browse the virtual catalog and select the item or merchandise you wish to redeem with your Connection Points. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the rewards exchange process and ensure your personal details, such as address, are up to date.

3. Call 800-900-6160 if you wish to make a travel booking -- such as a flight or a stay in a hotel -- with your Connection Points. Give the operator your membership number and full details of your desired booking.
