How to Hide on "YM"
Yahoo! Messenger is an instant-messaging application by which you can chat through the Internet. It allows chat, as well as audio and video conferences in real-time. You can add friends and acquaintances and chat with them separately. Those on your contact list can see you as online unless you choose to hide. There are three ways to hide in YM. The first is to login as invisible, so that no one can see you. The second is to manually set the "invisible" mode after you've signed in. The third is to select contacts to whom you'll be invisible.

Go to "All Programs" and "Yahoo! Messenger."

Enter your "Yahoo! ID" and password and check "Sign-in as invisible to everyone."

Click the "down" arrow beside your Yahoo! ID after you have signed in and choose "Invisible to Everyone."

Right-click a name on your contact list, go to "Stealth Settings" and click "Appear Permanently Offline." Repeat for each user you want to hide from.
