How to Play the Game of Flinch
Flinch has been a popular card game for decades. The whole family can enjoy a session of Flinch together. The game comes with a standard set of rules, in order to allow play to occur properly. You can learn these rules easily if you have ever played any other family fun card game. You can always modify the rules if you wish; however, it helps to know the standardized version of Flinch.

Deal the cards face down to each player. Each player should receive ten cards to start.

The first player must turn over their first card. If it represents a "1" they can place it into the middle of the table for play. If not, they need to flip it face up for all to see. The second player repeats this process. Every remaining player repeats this process.

End the turn. Every player must then play one card from his cards into a reserve pile. You must form five reserve piles. After that occurs, a player can always place a card into any one of the five reserve piles.

Continue play. The play resumes with the first player. The point of the game involves getting rid of all of your cards. You can only play a card that represents a higher number than the card in the middle. For example, in the second turn you should play your "2" cards on top of the "1" cards. Also, you can now play on top of the cards in another player's hand. For example, if a player has a face-up "7," you can play a "6" or "8" on top of that card. Basically, you can only play in ascending order on the middle piles; however, you can play in ascending or descending order on any of the face-up cards.
