SkyMiles is Delta Air Lines' frequent flyer program. In addition to using miles for purchasing reward travel, SkyMiles Medallion status provides frequent fliers with added benefits and privileges. All SkyMiles members who achieve Medallion status have access to priority boarding, priority check-in queues, preferred seats, preferred wait lists, complimentary upgrades, and bonus miles on eligible ticket fares. Medallion status is determined using Medallion Qualification Miles earned with Delta and its partners. The total number of flight segments flown by a SkyMiles member can also determine Medallion status.

Things You'll Need

  • SkyMiles membership
  • Apply for SkyMiles membership. Visit Delta Air Lines' website and complete the application form to become a SkyMiles member. Once you are a member, you will be able to earn reward miles that count towards achieving Medallion status.

  • Fly on eligible flights. Medallion Qualification Miles are calculated based on distance traveled and the fare class of the purchased ticket on flights operated by Delta, Delta Connection, Delta Shuttle, SkyTeam partners, and Alaska Airlines. Qualification Segments are also earned by flying with Delta, Delta Connection, Delta Shuttle, SkyTeam partners, and Alaska Airlines.

  • Earn 25,000 Medallion Qualification Miles or travel on 30 Medallion Qualification Segments from January 1 to December 31 in a given year to achieve Silver Medallion status.
