Serving these teas with cream, particularly cream spiced with cinnamon, adds a kick of flavor. In certain locations in England, traditional tea service has included cream for many years, particularly when served with scones in the afternoon as a snack. Things You'll Need

  • 5 tea bags
  • Teapot
  • 1/4 pt. whipping cream
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon (powdered)
  • 1 tsp. confectioners sugar
  • 1 tbsp. dark rum (optional)

Instructions

      Brew the tea in a teapot by boiling water and placing five bags in the hot water to steep. Choose a plain tea so the cinnamon cream is not overpowering, such as black or green tea. Make the cinnamon cream while the tea is steeping.

      Whisk together 1/4 pt. whipping cream, 1 tsp. powdered cinnamon and 1 tsp. confectioners sugar. Add 1 tbsp. dark rum to the mixture, if you prefer.

      Pour tea into tea cups or over ice to make iced tea. Add a dollop of the cinnamon cream to the top of the glass. Serve the tea.
