How to Catch Rayquaza Without a Masterball in Pokemon Sapphire
Pokemon Sapphire is the third edition of the Pokemon series. The goal is to collect 151 Pokemon, collect all 8 gym badges and make it to the championship. There are new faces and a few new Pokemon, but the quest is the same. One new Pokemon is the rare Rayquaza. This Pokemon is one of the Weather Trio, which makes it a tough catch to make.

Use Kyogre at level 50 to 53---any higher, and the Kyogre attacks will kill Rayquaza.

Use the Ice beam attack on Rayquaza. If you are lucky, the Ice beam will freeze the Rayquaza, bringing his health down to the critical level.

Throw an Ultraball to capture Rayquaza. Keep throwing Ultraballs until he is caught.

Tips & Warnings
If the Ice beam does not freeze Rayquaza, restart the game and try again.
If you do not capture Rayquaza after freezing him with the Ultraballs, restart the game and try again.
