How Can I Clean My Electric Popcorn Popper?
Electric popcorn poppers give you fresh-tasting popcorn that you can't often get from microwavable bags. Cleaning these devices after every use prevents an accumulation of oil, butter and unpopped kernels on the pieces of the machine. When debris accumulates in your popper, it will either be ineffective popping popcorn or you'll be left with quite a few burnt kernels. Unplug the popcorn popper. Wait 10 to 15 minutes until the machine is cool enough to touch.

Detach all non-electronic portions of the popper, such as the plate and bowl, from the machine.

Fill a sink with hot water and a tbsp. of liquid dish soap.

Soak the non-electronic parts of the popper in the solution for 10 to 20 minutes. Then, scrub the parts with a cloth or soft dish scrubber. Scrub until you no longer notice oil and food particles on the pieces.

Rinse the pieces thoroughly with water and then dry them with a towel.

Dampen a soft cloth with water. Wipe the electronic portion of the popper clean with the dampened cloth. Make sure the piece is completely dry before plugging the popper in.

Tips & Warnings
Exercise caution when cleaning your popper to avoid damaging any of the wiring that is found inside the popper, or accidentally scratching the plate that heats the kernels.
