iTunes can host songs, movies, TV shows and photos. And, you can synchronize all of this media to an iPod, iPad or iPhone. You can sync your iTunes library by connecting an iPod, iPad or iPhone to your computer via USB cable. You can then select which files you want to synchronize in each media section.
Things You'll Need
- iPod, iPad or iPhone
Insert the USB cable included with your iPod, iPad or iPhone into the bottom dock of the device. Insert the other end of the cable into an open USB port on your computer.
Open iTunes on your computer. (It may open automatically when you connect your iPod, iPad or iPhone to the computer.) Wait for the program to recognize your iPod, iPad or iPhone. Click your device's icon in the left panel of the application when it appears.
Click the "Music" tab in the window on the right side of the screen. Check the box next to "Sync Music" and then choose whether you want to sync your entire music library or only selected tracks. Click the "Apply" button when you have made your selections. iTunes will begin synchronizing with your iPod, iPad or iPhone.
Repeat Step 3 for the "Movies," "TV Shows," "Podcasts" and "Photos" sections in the window. You do not have to change a section that you don't want to sync.
