How to Get a Coke Card

Avid soda drinkers will benefit from a Coke card while on a cruise.

Instead of over spending on beverages during your cruise vacation, consider purchasing a Coke card on your cruise. Cruise lines offer guests the option to buy a "Coke card" or a "soda card." Coke cards are cards that allow guests to pay for unlimited soda drinks for the duration of the cruise all at once, instead of paying for soda drinks individually. Coke cards vary in price depending on the cruise line but generally range from $6 to $10 a day.

Instructions

1. Board the cruise ship. Coke cards are purchased once you board the ship, not before.

2. Locate a bar on the ship. You can purchase Coke cards at bar areas throughout the cruise ship. You cannot purchase them in souvenir shops or elsewhere.

3. Tell the bartender you would like to purchase a Coke card. The bartender will tell you the price of the card for one person. The price of the card is normally calculated by the price per day times the duration of your cruise.

4. Sign or put your name on your Coke card. Depending on the cruise ship, you must put your name on your Coke card because you are the only person that can use it.

Tips & Warnings

• Before purchasing a Coke card, determine whether the overall price of the card is worth the money. If you do not drink soda a lot, the price of the card may not be worth it.

• Some Coke cards also include juice. Ask the bartender what beverages are included on the card.

• Wait until you are out to sea before purchasing your card. Once you are out to sea, you will not be charged a sales tax.

• Coke cards are good for one person only. Other people in your party that want a Coke card must buy their own.
