How to Make Onix Evolve in "Pokémon SoulSilver"

"Pokémon SoulSilver" allows you to connect with other players to battle them or trade your Pokémon with them. With some Pokémon, the only way to make them evolve is to trade them to another player; one of these Pokémon is Onix, which is a Rock/Ground-type Pokémon that resembles a snake. It can evolve into Steelix, which is a Steel/Ground-type Pokémon that also resembles a snake. Both of them are particularly effective against Normal-type Pokémon.

Instructions

1. Give your Onix a Metal Coat. The easiest way to obtain one is by trading 2,500 Prize Points at the Pokéathlon Dome on a Tuesday; the items change every day, and the Metal Coat appears only on this day. When you have a metal coat, select "Pokémon" from the menu, target Onix, press "Equip" and select "Metal Coat" from the inventory.

2. Launch DS Wireless at the Pokémon Center. Do this by going to the second floor of a Pokémon Center and talking to the lady in the middle behind the counter. This will launch the Trade feature.

3. Trade your Onix with another player. It will evolve into a Steelix when the other player receives it.
