The Mac Cinch software, produced by Irradiated Software, offers increased functionality for managing windows. By dragging an open window to the left or right of your screen, you can create a fast split screen. Drag the windows to the top to open them full screen again. Split screens allow you to copy files quickly between Finder menus, for example. The software is free, if you don't mind intermittent reminders to license the product. Licensing the product is $7, as of 2011.
Boot up your Mac computer.
Quit the Cinch program if necessary. Click on the icon on the menu bar that looks like a rectangle with a dash.
Find the "Cinch.app" file. It will likely rest in your "Applications" or "Downloads" folder.
Click on "Cinch.app" and drag it to the "Trash" icon on your desktop.
Tips & Warnings
- If you have trouble finding the "Cinch.app" file, open your Finder window. Click on the "Computer" icon at the top. Type "Cinch" in the "Search" field and press "Return." This will search your entire hard disk for the file.
