How to Finish Sewing Binding on Your Quilt
Complete your quilt by sewing the binding to the quilt's edges for a clean, finished look. Attaching the binding to the front of the quilt by machine stitching around all edges is the easy part. Now you need to finish sewing the binding to the back of your quilt. Be careful to use small, neat stitches such as the blindstitch for the most invisible look. Allow ample time to finish the hand sewing part of your quilt's binding.

1
Fold the binding that has already been machine sewn to the front of the quilt around the edge of the quilt to the back. Pin it in place all the way around.
-
2
Thread a hand sewing needle with thread the same color as the binding so that it will blend into the binding. Anchor the thread to the back of the quilt just beneath the binding by sewing three small stitches on top of one another.

Begin blindstitching the quilt binding to the quilt back.To blindstitch, draw the needle up from the bottom of the quilt back and snag a few threads of the binding fabric right under the fold. Return the needle to the bottom of the quilt back's fabric; aim for 1/8 of an inch from your original stitch.

Repeat the blindstitch around the entire quilt, securing the binding all the way around. Make each stitch the same length as much as possible for a uniform look.
