How to Turn Off the Pop-Up Blocker on Google Toolbar

The Google Toolbar's pop-up blocker is only available in the Internet Explorer version. This blocker prevents websites from launching secondary pop-up windows, whose primary purpose is to display advertisements. However, some sites use pop-ups for useful purposes, such as logging in or displaying requested information, so you may need to disable this pop-up blocker. You can disable the pop-up blocker globally or only for an individual website.

Global Disabling

  • Open Internet Explorer.

  • Click the wrench icon on the Google Toolbar.

  • Click the "Tools" tab.

  • Uncheck "Pop-up blocker."

  • Click "Save."

Individual Disabling

  • Navigate to the website for which you want to allow pop-ups.

  • Click the pop-up blocker icon. This icon appears as a small window obscured by a red circle with an exclamation point in the center. When you click it, the circle disappears to display the window behind it, signifying that the pop-up blocker is disabled for the current website.

  • Click the pop-up blocker icon again to re-enable the feature.
