How to Reset an Everex Laptop to Factory Settings

If your Everex laptop is experiencing a problem, such as having a computer virus whose damage you cannot repair, or if the system is malfunctioning, you may want to reset the computer to its default factory settings. You can do this by performing a non-destructive system recovery, which will not delete any data files that you created with the laptop. However, you will need to reinstall any new applications that were not pre-installed on the computer.

  • Click the "Start" button on the Everex laptop's screen.

  • Click "Help and Support."

  • Click in the "Search" box, then type "System Recovery," and then click the green arrow. Click on "System Recovery" from the search results list. The laptop will reboot. You will see a message prompting you to press "F10." Press the "F10" key on the laptop's keyboard.

  • Click on "Selecting Recovery Options" from the left panel of the "System Recovery Tools" window. The "Non-Destructive System Recovery" dialog box will open.

  • Click "Next." The Everex laptop will now reset itself. When the process completes, you will see a "System Recovery CRC Verification Confirmation" dialog box, which explains that the system will now perform a data verification check that takes about 10 minutes. Click "Yes." The system will check the files, and then the laptop will reboot, reset to the factory default settings.
