How to Stop LimeWire When the Computer Starts
LimeWire is a computer program that allows you to connect to other LimeWire users and share files. The LimeWire user interface provides a search function with which you can search all of these networked computers at once. When you first install LimeWire, it informs Windows that it should be started at startup. However, LimeWire uses computer resources even when it runs in the background. So if you're not using it, it can be a serious hindrance to your system's performance, and you may want to stop it from loading when you start your computer.

Tips & Warnings
If LimeWire still starts after you have completed these steps, close it at Windows startup manually by right-clicking the taskbar and clicking "Start Task Manager." Click the "Processes" tab and then click "limewire.exe." Click "Kill Process." Note, however, that if the "msconfig" utility is not working properly, it may indicate that the system is infected.
