How to Word a Hindu Wedding Card
As Eastern and Western cultures continue to be synthesized due to the organic development of multiculturalism, traditional Hindu weddings are becoming more common in the USA. To make your wedding traditionally Hindu, you must make sure that each detail and stage of the wedding adheres to the culture. Pay attention to details such as the wedding cards. Once your guests receive wedding cards that are worded according to Hindu tradition, there will be no doubt that yours will be a Hindu wedding.

1
Write the titles and full names of the bride's parents and complete the sentence with "request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter". The titles and names of the bride's parents should be in the following format: 'Mr & Mrs (father's first name) and (mother's first name) (surname)'.
-
2
Write the full name of the bride followed by 'to' on the next line and the full name of bridegroom on a third line.

3
Although a Hindu wedding is traditionally organized and paid for by the bride's parents, you may choose to include the names of the bridegroom's parents on the invitation. If so, put them immediately below the groom's name. Start with "son of" and complete the sentence with the parents' names in the same format as the bride's parents.
-
4
State what part of the wedding you're inviting each guest to. You might be inviting a guest to just the wedding ceremony, just the reception or to both. Be clear which part of the ceremony the invitee is being invited to, so as not to cause any bruised feelings if the invitee misunderstands.
-
5
Put the date of the wedding in an easy-to-understand date format of your choice. Traditional Hindu wedding ceremonies can last for days. If this is the case with yours, remember to include the end date as well as the start date if you're inviting the guest to the entire ceremony. If you're inviting some guests to only certain days of the ceremony, make sure you write the correct dates for each guest. Don't forget to include the year. Below this, write the start time of the event, being clear as to whether it is in the morning or afternoon.
-
6
Include the location of the ceremony and/or reception. If, as is Hindu tradition, you're holding the ceremony outdoors, advise your guests to dress appropriately for the time of year.
-
7
As it is the bride's parents that usually organize this type of wedding, write that the guests should RSVP to this set of parents' postal address.
