Directions for Vanilla and Cinnamon Tea-Soaked Gift Tags
Antique gift tags are homey and ooze old-world charm. Other than their primary use on gifts, they can be used for many other things; hanging on a bottle of wine, used as a bookmark or luggage tag or for journaling on a scrapbook page are a few handy uses. While true antique gift tags are difficult to come by, it is relatively simple to make homemade vintage tags using ingredients that are easy to acquire.
Things You'll Need
- 10 tea bags
- Large bowl
- Hot water
- 8 manila tags
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- Baking sheet

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Farenheit.

Fill a large bowl halfway with very hot water.

Add tea bags, vanilla extract and cinnamon.

Spread the tags in a single layer through the bowl.

Allow the tags to soak in the tea for at least an hour.

Remove the tags, and spread them on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, turning halfway.

Tips & Warnings
Tear a few tea bags open in the water to create darker spots on the tags.
Try other scents, such as maple extract, nutmeg or cloves.
Decorate the finished tags with ribbon or stamps to add a personal touch.
Watch the tags very carefully during baking to prevent fire.
