How to Make Beach Bracelets
A beach bracelet is an accessory that takes you back to long summer days playing in the sand or to dreams of faraway tropical islands. You don't need to go to the beach to look the part though -- take a trip to your local bead shop or arts and crafts store to gather a few supplies. After that, let your imagination be your guide.
Things You'll Need
- Shell beads
- Glass beads
- Wooden beads
- 2-part clasp
- 4 feet of waxed cotton or hemp cord

1
Cut the piece of waxed cotton cord in half so that you have two pieces. Thread both pieces through one part of the clasp and pull them through until the clasp is at the halfway point. Fold the cords in half so you have four even strands. Tie them in a knot close to the clasp.

2
Divide the strands into two pairs and tie a knot in each pair. String a small seed, wooden or glass bead onto each pair of strands and push it almost all the way to the clasp. Tie a knot to prevent the bead from slipping back down the cords.

3
String a slightly larger bead onto each pair of strands -- the beads can be the same or different --and tie knots to prevent the beads from slipping back down the cords. Repeat this process, adding beads in varying sizes, materials, and colors and tying knots to prevent them from slipping.
-
4
Measure the length of the bracelet against your wrist as you continue. When the bracelet is the right length, bundle all of the strands into the other part of the clasp and tie them in a secure knot. Reinforce the knot with a dab of superstrong glue or hot glue. Cut the remaining tails.

Tips & Warnings
To make your bracelet really beachy, use glass beads in shades of pale blue, green and white -- these are the colors of sea glass.
