How to Create Glow With Photoshop
In real life, getting something to glow can take a calculated degree of neon tubing or other lighting, but on a compute screen, a few clicks will do the trick. Creating glow with Adobe Photoshop, for example, lets you put a glowing ring around anything. Highlight a person, place or object in your artwork without lights or chemicals.
Instructions

1
Open Photoshop. Click the "File" menu. Click "Open." Click "Browse." Locate the photo to add the glow to and double-click the file name. The picture opens in Photoshop.
-
2
Click the "Lasso" tool, the third icon from the top on the "Tools" pane on the left side of the screen.
-
-
3
Draw an outline around the part of the image to glow. Right-click inside the outline and select "Layer via Copy."
-
4
Double-click the new Layer 1 on the "Layers" palette. If the "Layers" palette is not showing in the bottom, right of the screen, click the "Window" menu and select "Layers" to open it. The "Layer Style" window opens. Move the window out of the way so you can see both it and the outlined area.
-
5
Check the box for "Outer Glow" and actually click the line so it is highlighted blue (checking the box doesn't highlight the line) to open the "Outer Glow" contents panel. A small glowing line surrounds the area.
-
6
Click into the small colored box under the word "Noise;" it may be light yellow by default. Choose a color for the highlight and click "OK."
-
7
Slide the "Spread" and "Size" sliders to the right to increase the glow. The further to the right, the bigger and brighter the glow will appear.
-
8
Click the "Contour" box and select one of the glow patterns. Click different patterns to see their effects on the glow.
-
9
Click "OK" when satisfied. Click the lined icon at the top, right of the "Layers" pane. Click "Flatten Image."
-
10
Click the "File" menu. Click "Save As." Type a new name for the glowing image and click "OK."
