How to Hook Eyeglasses to a Chain thumbnail
Eyeglass chains keep glasses around your neck when you're not wearing them.

An eyeglass chain is a convenience for keeping your glasses near even when you are not wearing them. It helps you avoid misplacing your glasses after you take them off because the glasses are around your neck. Various styles of chains are available; they often have beads and pattern designs. At each end of the chain is a rubber grip that hooks to the glasses to hold them firmly in place. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Hold up the chain and look at the rubber grips. Find the hole in the middle of each grip.

    • 2

Slip one of the temples, the "arms" of the glasses that hook behind the ears, through the hole in each rubber grip.

    • 3

Push each temple through the rubber grip until the grip passes the curve in the temple.

    • 4

Lower the glasses over a pillow or cushion to test the hold on the chain. Hold the chain and let go of the glasses. The glasses should not slip from the chain. If the glasses slip, push the rubber grips farther up the temples until they hold. Do not put the chain around your neck until you check to ensure that the glasses will not slip off.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a pillow or cushion when testing the chain so that if the glasses do slip during the test of the grip, the glasses will land on a soft surface and will not break.
