How to Find Out if You Are Listed on Google News

How to Find Out if You Are Listed on Google News thumbnail
Google News syndicates the latest news stories from around the web.

You can search Google News for the latest news and information from a specific source, region or keyword. Google gathers together a range of news stories from thousands of credible sources, allowing users to conveniently and quickly search for the information they need. You can easily find out if your name is making the news or if Google is picking up your news site or blog for syndication.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the Google News site (see Resources).

    • 2

Type your first and last name in the top search box. Click the "Search News" button or hit the "Enter" key. Google will return search results and appropriate news items.

    • 3

Click the "Follow News" button at the top of the search results page. This lets you add a section with your name to the left sidebar, where you can pull up the results faster in the future.

    • 4

Type "site:" along with your news site or blog URL in the search field. For example, if you worked for or owned CNN, then you would type "site:cnn.com" to see if your website is listed on Google News.

    • 5

Use the Google News submission form if your website is not listed. Google will review your news site and content for possible syndication. Submitting your website does not guarantee it will be listed on Google News.
