The Texas Business Organizations Code (BOC) regulates the formation of Professional Limited Liability Corporations (PLLCs). The BOC requires PLLCs to have a registered agent and office address filed with the Texas Secretary of State. Changing the address of the PLLC requires submitting a Statement of Change of Registered Agent/Office form. The PLLC's registered agent can submit this form by fax, mail, online or in person at the Secretary of State's office.

      Obtain Form 401 -- Statement of Change of Registered Agent/Office. The form can be downloaded at the Secretary of State website.

      Complete Form 401 and make appropriate changes to the office address.

      Ensure that the new office address is not a mailbox service. The address must be accessible during business hours should service of process be necessary. Service of process is the procedure used to give legal notice to a person or entity.

      Submit the form to the Secretary of State. The form can be filed by fax, mail or online. It can also be delivered in person to the Secretary of State's office.

      Pay a $15 filing fee (as of April 2011). Checks must be payable through a United States bank or financial institution. Credit cards and money orders are also accepted.
