How to Find Windows Defender on XP

Windows Defender is a security that comes standard on the Windows Vista operating system and can be downloaded for Windows XP. Windows Defender protects your computer from malware and makes your Internet browsing sessions safer by blocking infected sites and files. To find Windows Defender, to enable it or tailor its settings, you can look to your system's Start menu or Control Panel.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" button.

2. Click "All Programs."

3. Click on "Windows Defender" in the program list to open it.

4. Click on "Control Panel" in the Start menu if Windows Defender does not appear in the program list.

5. Click "Windows Defender" in the Control Panel if using Windows XP Classic View. If not, click "Security," then click "Windows Defender."
