How to Convert AVIs to Play on an iPod

The iPod does not support playback for every type of video file. If you have one of your videos in the .AVI format, you must first convert it to MP4 so it can be played by the iPod's software. Luckily, iTunes includes a convenient conversion tool that provides you with the necessary tools to convert the file to an iPod compatible format without having to spend extra cash on expensive converter software.

      Open the "iTunes" application from the "All Programs" folder in the "Start" menu or by double-clicking the shortcut on the desktop.
