  1. Recovery Through Windows XP

      Close all programs that are running in Windows. Click "Start," "All Programs," "System Recovery" and "PC Recovery."

      Select the option to perform a "PC Recovery" and click "Next."

      Click "OK" once the HP NC6000 laptop has restarted in recovery mode.

      Click "Next" once the System Recovery Panel is displayed. This will begin the system recovery process on your HP NC6000 laptop. Once the recovery process is over, click "Restart" to reboot your laptop.

    Recovering With a Recovery Disc

      Turn on the HP NC6000 laptop. Open the disc drive and insert your Windows recovery disc.

      Restart the NC6000. As the computer restarts, hit "F8" button repeatedly to boot the computer into the boot menu. Select the option to boot from the recovery disc. Wait for the recovery program to load.
