Expanding technology has provided people with a means of organizing their everyday tasks, thus making their daily lives a little bit easier to manage. Microsoft Outlook, the email and calendaring system of the Microsoft Office suite of products, allows users to keep track of their daily responsibilities and set reminders to ensure that they are completed.

Instructions

  1. Microsoft Outlook Calendar

      Open "Microsoft Outlook." Select the calendar button at the bottom, directly next to the email icon.

      Double-click on the date that you wish to set an alarm.

      Enter all pertinent information into the dialog box that appears, including what the alarm is for and what time it should go off. An alert message and predesignated sound should go off on the specified date and time.

    Microsoft Outlook Tasks

      Select the "Task" icon at the bottom of the Microsoft Outlook screen. The icon resembles a clipboard with a red check mark in the middle of it.

      Double-click on an empty line to open an input box.

      Enter all pertinent information into the task box that comes up, including start and due dates, the reason for the alarm and the time you wish the alarm to go off. An alert message and predesignated sound should go off on the specified date and time.

  • Double-check that you have selected the correct date and time for the reminder to sound.
