How to Create an Official Graduation Invitation
Whether you are graduating from high school or college, or have a little one graduating from kindergarten, it is an occasion that family and friends will want to celebrate with you. To inform them of the event and the date of the graduation ceremony, an invitation must include pertinent information. Additionally, if you will be having a graduation celebration following the official ceremony, details such as date and time should be included. Your official graduation invitations can be ordered from a professional company, or you can design and print them yourself from home.

1
Open the appropriate computer program you will use to create your invitation and choose your desired layout from the options provided.
-
2
Type an official announcement of your completion. Some family members may not be aware of your current events. If you are graduating from college, you should include the school your graduating from, your degree, and any achievements you earned. You can get creative with your wording or simply state this information in list form.

-
3
Include information on the date, time and location of the graduation. Try to include information on parking, such as where to park and if there is a fee to park.
-
4
Include a picture. Adding a picture to your invitation makes it a little more special and worthwhile to save. Use a picture in your cap and gown if you can. Choose a recent or graduation photo, using a scanner to upload it to your computer. Save it to a folder, then open it in your program and place it on your invitation template in the desired location.
-
5
Provide information for your party/celebration that follows if you are having one. Include an address for your home, restaurant or other party venue. Include the time or instructions to meet after the graduation.
-
6
Print your newly created invitation on your paper. Some templates require folding, cutting or printing on both sides. To complete the invitation, follow the guideline provided by the program.
-
7
Use your stickers to decorate the invitation. For example, place stickers in the four corners of your pictures or create a border around the invite.
