How to Make Sure My Wireless Is On on My Kindle


The Amazon Kindle, a popular ebook reader created by, has Whispernet 3G and Wi-Fi Internet capabilities. If you do not need to be connected to the Internet, you can increase the battery life of the Kindle significantly by turning off the Wi-Fi capabilities of the Kindle. You access the wireless toggle through the Kindle's menu settings. You can easily turn this feature on and off as needed.

  • Press the "Menu" button on the front of your Kindle.

  • Press down on the 5-way directional controller to select the menu item "Turn Wireless Off."

  • Press the 5-way controller to select this menu option and disable the wireless option on your Kindle.
