The Mad Catz Wireless Network Adapter for Xbox 360 allows you to connect your Xbox 360 to a wireless router for online gaming using Xbox Live and for sharing media such as movies, music and pictures. This adapter connects to the Xbox via the console's Ethernet port, rather than through a USB port. Prior to connecting the wireless adapter to your Xbox 360, you must configure it on your computer.

Things You'll Need

  • WPS-capable wireless router
  • Insert the installation CD into your computer's CD or DVD drive and allow the Installation Guide to load.

  • Plug the wireless adapter's power cord into the wall outlet, then press the power button on the adapter to turn on the adapter. Click "Next" to proceed with the installation.

  • Plug the Ethernet cable that is included with the adapter into the Ethernet port on the rear of the adapter. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your computer. If another cable is plugged into your computer's Ethernet port, unplug it. Click "Next" to proceed with the installation.

  • Open the "Start" menu (click the Windows-logo button on the lower-left-hand corner of the screen) and then click "Control Panel." Click "Network and Sharing Center" from the Control Panel window and then click "Change Adapter Settings" on the left pane of the screen. Right-click on your Ethernet adapter and then click "Properties." Select "Internet Protocol" and then click "Properties." Click the radio button beside "Use the following IP address" and then enter "10.10.10.101" into the "IP Address" field. Enter "255.255.255.0" in the "Subnet Mask" field, located below the "IP Address" field. Click "OK" to save your settings.

  • Press the "WPS" button, located on the top of your router. The WPS button has either an icon of a closed lock or two circular arrows.

  • Press and then release the "WPS" button located on the wireless adapter to connect the adapter to the router.

  • Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the rear of the computer and plug it into the Ethernet port on the rear of the Xbox 360 to complete the installation.

  • Plug the original Ethernet cable back into your computer, if it was removed.

  • Return to the "Internet Protocol Properties" screen on your computer. Click the radio button labeled "Obtain an IP address automatically," or enter the original IP address and subnet mask. Click "OK." Close all windows.
