1
Save colorful magazine advertisements from glossy magazines to use as wrapping paper on flat gifts such as CDs or DVDs. Cut out the main photo from both advertisements and glue these photos together to create one sheet. Wrap the present with the glued-together photos then cover the joint on the images with a black ribbon. Write a message on the package with white or gold marking pen. You can use another color of ribbon if you prefer but black suits this best because the wrapping paper is so colorful.

Cut the neck off an old white plastic bottle of an unusual shape. These vary in size so choose one to the size of the gift. Cut down the middle of one side so you can fit the gift into it. Cover the cut with ribbon and the neck hole with a bow, part of which is stuffed into the hole left by cutting off the neck. This wrapping would be ideal for jewelry.

Contrast your wrapping by using plain brown wrapping paper with some plain colored paper. Wrap two thirds of the parcel in brown paper and one third with the colored paper. Place a piece of ribbon lengthways around the parcel and tape it down at the back firmly. Slide six feathers under the ribbon at the front in threes opposite each other. Glue three brown buttons or baubles down the ribbon at the front an equal distance apart. This makes a very unusual gift wrap so thought needs to be given to the recipient who would appreciate it.

Wrap brightly colored crepe paper around the gift (a round gift works best) several times and glue down the ends. Wind some unusual ribbon around the parcel spaced approximately one inch apart. Put some fun stickers at the bottom and top of it and add a stick-on bow to the top.
