How to Speed Up Mozilla Firefox 3 for Windows Vista
Mozilla Firefox 3 is a cross-platform Web browser widely used on many operating systems, such as Windows Vista. Mozilla Firefox has a number of tweaks and changes that can speed up the browser's performance. Not all speed tweaks are applicable to every system, as some computers may only need a few changes to make Firefox work to the user's liking.

1
Go to Mozilla Firefox's add-on page at mozilla.org and download an ad-blocking add-on such as "Adblock Plus." Restart Firefox. Websites that have many ads can significantly slow down the loading time of websites, so blocking the ads can speed up your browsing.

2
Click "Options" and "Advanced." Select the "Network" tab. Increase the size of Firefox's cache so more websites can be stored in your cache. When you visit a website you have been to before, Firefox checks the cache and loads website assets that have not been changed between visits. Depending on your computer, you may want to reduce the number of days pages are stored in history.

Type "about:config" in the Firefox address bar. Click "I'll be careful, I promise!" This page contains many different configuration options for Firefox, and altering these settings should be done with care. Type "network.http.pipelining" and double-click the search result. Change its value to "True" to activate this setting. Type "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" and double-click it. Change the number to 8. This doubles the requests made between the browser and the website, resulting in faster load times.

4
Uninstall add-ons you are no longer using. Firefox add-ons load whenever you are using the browser, so if you have a large number of them you are not using, you are slowing down Firefox for no reason.
