  • Water
  • Glycerin or corn syrup (optional)

      Add 1 cup water and 2 tbsp. dish soap to a bowl.

      Mix in either 1 tbsp. of glycerin or 1 tbsp. of corn syrup, if desired. Creative Kids at Home recommends against including glycerin if bees and wasps are common in your area.

      Use your homemade bubble mixture immediately or store it in a plastic container with a lid, such as an empty bubble jar.

Tips & Warnings

  • Replace the water with 1 cup of liquid tempera paints, and add 1 tablespoon of liquid starch, to create a colorful bubble mixture.

  • Allow the mixture to sit overnight for the best results.

  • Use drinking straws or loops of garden wire in place of plastic bubble wands.
