How to Convert Umbrella Strollers for Triplets
There's nothing more adorable than babies, especially when they come three at a time. While having triplets can be a blessing, it can also bust your budget. It's expensive to buy three cribs, three high chairs and three car seats. A premium triplet stroller can set you back $1,000 or more -- plus its size and weight make it difficult to find a vehicle to accommodate one. You can save money and guarantee a place in your trunk by purchasing three umbrella strollers and connecting them together.

1
Connect three identical umbrella-style strollers for an inexpensive triplet stroller. Buy three umbrella-style strollers of the same brand, make and model with wheel locks. The patterns can be different as long as the strollers are identical -- otherwise, the wheels may not match up. Umbrella strollers are lightweight and collapse easily for handy transport. You can purchase umbrella strollers at mass merchandisers, toy stores and baby equipment stores.

Purchase two sets of strollers connectors. These are heavy plastic bands that clip on your strollers to hold them together. You can find stroller connectors at retailers that sell strollers. There are different brands on the market but they all serve the same function.

Open strollers and line them up side-by-side on even pavement. Attach connectors under the handlebars, midway down the strollers, above the front wheels, and above the rear wheels. Do this for each stroller.
-
4
Click the connectors and strollers together, one section at a time. Start at the handlebars with the first two strollers and work your way down to the wheels. Then connect the second and third strollers together the same way.

5
Purchase cup holders for the stroller. Add accessories as needed. Most umbrellas strollers do not come equipped with cup holders, snack trays or toys so you may need to buy those items separately. Rolling three babies will make you work up a thirst, so consider adding cup holders for the the stroller pusher, too.

Make sure the wheels are locked and the stroller is on a solid surface. Strap your babies into the stroller harnesses and enjoy your newfound freedom.

Tips & Warnings
It is easiest to move the unit by pushing one stroller and letting the other two strollers follow.
Detach connectors before collapsing strollers.
Umbrella strollers roll best on solid surfaces.
The stroller will be too wide for standard doorways. Detach one stroller and roll the two strollers in separately to get through. Reattach when inside door.
If the stroller pusher is tall, you may need stroller extensions.
