How to Cut Stones in "RuneScape"
When you train the Crafting skill in the online role-playing game of "RuneScape," having the ability to cut stones, or gems, is important. Crafting is a skill in which players create useful items from raw materials. Players can obtain stones from mining ore, monster drops, thieving and as a reward. Stones have three stages: uncut, cut and bolt tips. Uncut stones are a natural resource, generally obtained from ore. Players use cut stones to craft Jewellery for teleporting and boosting skills. Bolt tips are required to craft enchanted Crossbow Bolts. To cut stones, your character must have the stone's required Crafting level.

Verify that your Crafting level meets the requirements for the stone you are attempting to cut:
Opal -- Level 1
Jade -- Level 13
Red Topaz -- Level 16
Sapphire -- Level 20
Emerald -- Level 27
Ruby -- Level 34
Diamond -- Level 43
Dragonstone -- Level 55
Onyx -- Level 67

Place the stone and a chisel in your inventory. If you do not have a chisel, you can purchase one from the Grand Exchange or from most General and Crafting stores.

Use the Chisel on the Stone to cut the stone. If you are cutting an expensive Dragonstone or Onyx, you will receive a message to verify the action.

Tips & Warnings
To cut a previously "Cut" stone into Bolt Tips, use the chisel on the "Cut" stone.
