1
Adjust the thermostat temperature to a warmer point. The defrost cycle may continue on a constant basis if the temperature inside the freezer is too cold.
-
2
Keep the freezer doors closed as much as possible. If the doors are open frequently, the internal temperature cannot maintain an accurate setting.
-
-
3
Clean the gasket on the freezer door with a damp cloth, and push items inside back and away from the door. This will help ensure that the door is shutting properly and creating a seal, which allows for better temperature control.
-
4
Use a wood or plastic scraper to remove ice from the freezer surface if more than ½ inch of ice has accumulated.
-
5
Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the base grille in the front of the freezer/refrigerator. Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to clean dirt and dust off the condenser coils. Empty the drain pan and put it back in place. Close the base grille.
